Fantasy

Fantasy came along in 1954, a UK design 34ft yacht for the late Dudley Burridge and Stan Brown, of Glen Huon, Tasmania.

She successfully completed many offshore races out of Hobart, and was sold to Frank Eyre of Melbourne in the late 1950s.

Fantasy had a beam of 9ft, draft of 5ft and a half ft and was built of Huon pine with a plywood deck over a Tasmanian oak frame.

Her race honours included: Second, Maria Island race (1955); first, Bruny Island race (1955); second, inaugural Mewstone Rock race (1956); first, Maria Island (1956), regarded as the toughest race for many years;

second, Mewstone Rock race (1957); and second place in both the 1957 Mewstone Rock and Maria Island races.
