
MUIR'S BOATYARD REVIVAL 2016
On Friday 9th September 2016, the Muir family organised a 'revival' at Muir's Boatyard to signify the beginning of a new chapter. Since decline in the boat building industry in Tasmania, many of the historical slipways and boatbuilding facilities have fallen into disrepair or, in the case of Muir's Boatyard, become repurposed. REMEMBERING JOCK MUIR'S LEGACY
Apco Plaques have created a magnificent plaque cast from bronze to celebrate Jock Muir's legacy at Muir's Boatyard. Using a new technology, which allows the casting to be made with a three-dimensional background behind the text, Apco have been able to use a photograph of the boatyard to give the plaque depth and interest. THE MUIR MARITIME LEGACY CONTINUES
2017 will see another valuable piece of of the Muir maritime legacy in print. Aptly titled 'Blood, Sweat & The Sea,' the latest Muir family book carries on from Jock Muir's 'Maritime Reflections', published in 1991.
