THE MUIR MARITIME LEGACY CONTINUES

2017 will see another valuable piece of of the Muir maritime legacy in print. Aptly titled 'Blood, Sweat & The Sea,' the latest Muir family book carries on from Jock Muir's 'Maritime Reflections', published in 1991.

Former ABC and Walkley Award winning journalist Mike Swinson penned this 416 tome detailing John Muir's foray into the winch business. Well-known maritime historian Nicole Mays contributed by way of her invaluable research capabilities and vast knowledge base.

Over four decades, John tirelessly built the business with the support of his wife Wendy, to the international success it has become. Stepping away from the business in re3cent years, John felt it was time to document not only the incredible family history with its links to the sea, but also the fascinating story of beginning, building and managing a successful export business with the unique challenge of being located in Tasmania.
